So at about 4:30 Riggs runs into the end of a nerf gun and split his lip....It was very bloody and his main concern was having to go to the hospital. This is our first experience with this, so we headed to Vandy b/c it was the best place for children and stitches. It clearly needed them and his lip line was affected. It was not busy there and this wonderful child life specialist came in and showed him the doll with stitches and all of the tools used. He was just perfect and didn't even need sedation. They said it was important not to move at all because of the location. It wasn't a long time, although it is not how I would choose to spend my Sunday afternoon!

poor riggs! that looks awful :( your blog puts mine to shame! i can't make myself post anything from thanksgiving on--i feel like i'm too behind to ever catch up! hope his lip is feeling better!
