Sherry's Run

Last weekend , we participated in a 5K in Lebanon called Sherry's Run. It benefits colon cancer and our MCA team ran in honor of Mrs. Fawn, who was an extended care teacher at our school last year. She is currently battling cancer and holds a dear place in our hearts.
This year, the race was in memory of Velma Liddle, a teacher at a local school in Lebanon, who lost her life at the age of 46. Her life was cut short when she was diagnosed and died only six weeks later. Sherry's Run honored Velma's life and memory at the 2009 event in hopes of inspiring others who are facing cancer through her example and all that she stood for as a wife, mother, teacher, coach, friend and family member. It was truly a special event and I can't wait to attend next year.

Grandparent's Day

We celebrated Grandparent's Day on September 11th. Our school also moved the flag from our old location to our new school on Leeville Pike. It was a very remarkable ceremony and it was a special time and day to spend with our parents. I am very proud that we can still say the pledge and say that our nation is a nation under God. I am not quite sure how much longer I will get to say that (with the liberals in power and all!)...Jake and Riggs made special gifts and presented the grandmothers with patriotic corsages. It was a great day for all!
