Happy Thanksgiving!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING... from the Riggs and Rowe families! We had a great time in Memphis...it was a lively bunch at our Thanksgiving celebration. We had Alexandra's 18th birthday (she bought a lottery ticket and smokes just because she could) , played catch phrase and charades, ate , and talked. It was a fun event!

Mimi's Visit

My parents came for a visit last weekend. The weather turned out beautiful for November and mom thought I needed some pansies in the front. I usually put them out myself, but I was slacking this year. Sometimes I skip them because they don't spread out like petunias do in the spring and summer. Riggs had fun helping her as he loves to do anything that involves gardening/lawn care maintenance.

Also, no southerner needs to get by without learning how to make a batch of fresh fried pies. So we made some peach pies. When I was little, I remember mom letting me use the fork to go around the edges. Riggsy seemed to enjoy it and the end result was delicious!

Halloween Post...Late!

This year Jake was a policeman and Riggs really was a clone trooper, but he thought he was Darthvader, so we didn't tell him any differently. That shows you how much he knows about movies. I try to distract them from being superheroes, just because that is what everyone else is. So I thought Jake would make a cute cop, although he just wanted it because it included handcuffs. After trick-or-treating, we had a get together with the neighbors. Everyone brought an appetizer and it was really good! Our neighborhood was packed as usual, so there is no reason to go anywhere else because it is so fun...Here are some pics

Halloween Eve

This year we decided to do a skeleton pumpkin that we saw in Good Housekeeping. It was easy and it turned out great. As usual Jay did the carving and I cooked the pumpkin seeds. The kiddos really enjoy them. I remember when Riggsy was a baby and he ate quite a few. Let's just say that they came out exactly like they went in haha! At least they chew them now, less trouble for the tummy I guess. It was a fun Friday!
