and I woke up to this face!!!

Little bit woke up this Sunday morning looking like this...He came into my room crying in the night, and I put him beside to me and patted him to sleep. I felt bad when I rolled over the next morning and saw his blood crusted, scratched up face ( sorry to be so graphic)...It turns out he feel out of bed and his dresser drawer was open..ouch!! I guess it could have been worse. So much for Christmas card pics! It looks a lot worse up close; I don't even thing touch up would help!

Lebanon Parade and MCA Christmas Open House

Oh the benefits of a small town. Where else can you walk down the street where everyone knows your name? Where else can you pop a squat on the side of the street and watch a good old-fashioned parade? or get a fresh cup of soothing hot chocolate to warm your whistle for a dollar?
Lebanon, Tennessee that is...we had a wonderful time watching people we knew and people we didn't know. It was a fun-filled day with our school's Christmas open house and parade. The kids got to eat chili and desserts, make crafts, and shop at the Santa store. Here's some pics to show our fun day!

Levi is here!

Our friends BJ and Brooke have a new son:

Levi Collins Cowen

STATS:
5lbs 8oz.
17 inches

He is so precious and he will be with them tomorrow so let's pray that everything goes well for them and for his birthmother, Ashley. She is very brave and selfless to give him to a family that will love him unconditionally and be able to give everything that he needs. Pray that Ashley will be strong in her decision!

Christmas Tree Time!

I admit it...I really wasn't in the mood to put up the tree this year and I don't know why. I usually am really excited about it. However, the kids wouldn't let me go one more day without putting it up so Jay pulled out all of the mess and we dove into the madness. One by one, the kids began to pull out all of the ornaments...ones that they had made and also the fragile ones that I so carefully let them transfer to the tree ( I usually don't let them touch them!) . After all, I have no babies anymore. I don't even have to hang them at the top and all my presents will remain under the tree without being opened or slobbered on! As we began hanging my Waterford ornaments, I began
to see how much meaning each one has and what
a collection I was accumulating. Since I have been
married, my mother has given me, along with my
sisters, a Waterford ornament every year. One of
is a dove (signifying our marriage), another a
baby bootie (Jake), a baby bottle (Riggs), a star,
cross, and so on....Each has the year on it, and I
grow more to appreciate them each year. So I guess putting up the tree was fun afterall. Reminiscing, family, togetherness...that's what it's all about!

Thanksgiving fun....

This year was so much fun at Mimi's and Papaw's...Time is sure flying by..All the kids are getting so big;I can't believe my niece is 17! It was loud and rowdy as usual, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
